Headaches can be caused by emotional stress or by an underlying medical disease such as migraine, anxiety, depression, or high blood pressure.
Headache Types
The reason and type of headache can be determined based on the nature of your suffering.
1. Headaches Caused by Tension
Tension headaches are one of the most common types of headaches, and they are usually moderate. They arrive and depart quickly and create little disruption. They come and go with the passage of time and can vary in strength.
2. Migraine Symptoms
Migraine headaches are extremely painful, with pounding and throbbing sensations. Migraines can last anywhere from a few hours to several days, depending on the reason and severity of the pain. Migraine headaches occur at least three to four times per month on average. Along with discomfort, some people report sensitivity to light, sound, or scents, nausea, vomiting, appetite loss, and other symptoms.
3. Headaches in Clusters
Cluster headaches, as the name implies, occur in groups. You may experience headaches 3-4 times per day. Cluster headaches are distinguished by intense scorching or piercing pain behind one eye, as well as persistent throbbing. Each headache lasts between 15 and 3 hours, depending on the strength and severity.
4. Sinus Infections
Sinus headaches cause throbbing pain in your forehead, cheekbones, or bridge of your nose. Colds and infections cause inflammation of the sinus cavities in your head, resulting in mucus buildup. You will have a runny nose, ear fullness, fever, a bloated face, and a red nose in addition to sinus symptoms. Your nose will produce a greenish or yellow discharge as a result of the sinus infection.
5. Hunger Cravings
Hunger headaches are frequent before meals. They are caused by muscle stress, low blood sugar, and rebound dilatation of the blood vessels, as well as missing or overlapping meals. Recurrent hunger headaches can be caused by daily dieting or meal skipping.
